'The Face'

The Face was produced by Mediacells in collaboration with leading data visualisation specialists. Together, we scientifically manipulated face recognition data to transform the features of players from the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ into one computer-generated face.

Face-morphing has been around since the early 1990s, made famous by Michael Jackson’s Black Or White video.

The advancements in face recognition software over the last 25 years enabled us to analyse and detect the unique facial features (eyes, nose, mouth, etc) of every player in the FIFA World Cup™.

Using the latest data science techniques, the faces were 'morphed' to compose a virtual face.

The result is a hyper-realistic face representing the multitude of ethnicities, produced with an unrivalled level of craft and skill.
