Mediacells Mobile Advertising Forecasts

2008 will see global mobile advertising revenues grow, incrementally, but not dramatically.

The recent mobile component to the Adidas campaign in the US (see metrics at the end of this report), powered by Isobar, whipped up a frenzy of excitement about the effectiveness of mobile advertising with 75,000 mobile clickthrus to the campaign’s mobi mircosite and all for the estimated cost of little more than $100k.

As they say, when the United States sneezes ... or other metaphors around this theme.

The Mediacells' forecasts for advertising revenue in 2008 break down like this:

Global advertising market in 2008: $486 billion

       Mobile: $3 billion

       Online: $45 billion

       Other: $438 billion

Non US advertising market (predominantly EMEA) in 2008: $121 billion

       Mobile: $1 billion

       Online: $12 billion

       Other: $115 billion
